A Journey Through Code, Commerce, and Innovation
The Architect of Scalable Commerce (2019 – 2024)
At Leedstone Inc., I wasn’t just another developer—I was an architect, designing an e-commerce ecosystem that could handle both B2B and B2C demands. Taking on a Magento-to-WooCommerce migration was like remodeling a house while people were still living in it. I ensured seamless data migration, rebuilt complex ordering mechanisms, and even implemented custom vet approvals for pharmaceutical sales—because compliance waits for no one.
But the real magic? Engineering a custom price engine API that handled tiered pricing, ERP syncing, and caching optimizations. This wasn’t just an upgrade; it was a performance boost that kept transactions smooth and customers happy.
Security? Covered. Performance? Optimized. Hosting costs? Slashed by 50% through strategic cloud infrastructure adjustments. And for an encore, I introduced marketing automation, session tracking, and SEO schema enhancements—because a great website is nothing without traffic.
The Growth Strategist (2014 – 2019)
My time at K & M Manufacturing Co. was about transformation. What started as a solid B2B platform became a hybrid powerhouse, supporting both businesses and direct consumers. Revenue? Up 15-20% annually. Customer experience? Streamlined and intuitive.
One of my proudest achievements was redefining product searchability. Before, it was a one-to-one product mapping mess. After? A sleek variant-based model that made finding the right product as effortless as a Google search.
I didn’t stop at development—I expanded revenue streams, built a dealer locator, and even crafted a custom rewards program that incentivized loyalty. Payment processing, tax automation, shipping integrations—I wove them all into a seamless pipeline that helped K&M thrive.
Entrepreneurial Hustle & Tech Consulting (2011 – 2023)
As the founder of Lakes Area Design, I wore many hats—developer, consultant, strategist. Helping small businesses unlock digital potential was my mission.
From website revamps to SEO optimization, I worked with clients to modernize their web presence, automate tedious workflows, and unlock new revenue streams. There’s something deeply satisfying about helping a local business level up with the right tech.
Designing for the Masses (2007 – 2010)
Before I was building scalable commerce platforms, I was crafting digital experiences at Internet Broadcasting. My designs reached millions across NBC, Cox, and Hearst Argyle, shaping how audiences interacted with news and multimedia.
I wasn’t just pushing pixels—I was cutting costs (by creating an internal stock art repository), solving workflow inefficiencies, and co-leading a Confluence redesign that made documentation less of a headache for everyone.
The Takeaway?
From media design to full-scale e-commerce development, my career has been about solving problems through technology. Whether it’s engineering a custom API, migrating an entire commerce platform, or optimizing a digital strategy, I love tackling big, complex challenges—and making them work better.
